About Me

Patricia Hatfield O'Donnell, LCSW

Pronouns: She/Her

Pat wants you to know that dealing with a mental health issue and getting support is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. You are not alone in your journey.

Pat was born and raised in the hills of Tennessee. A graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, she obtained a BA in Communications (theatre), Art and Psychology and began work with the Tennessee Department of Children Services investigating sexual abuse cases. In 1989, Pat graduated with a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and began work with the TN Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. Over the years, she has also worked with psychiatric facilities, managed care companies and intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.

Pat excels at working with adults that are coping with depression, anxiety, adjustment/life-transitions, grief/loss, abuse (child or adult), and/or spiritual issues. She has extensive experience working with those managing past trauma, including sexual abuse and domestic violence. Pat and her clients address ways to establish safety and identify coping skills for improved daily functioning. Pat also has valuable experience as a case manager, and is able to provide supplemental resources as needed to her clients. Pat also enjoys working with couples that want to improve communication and better understand their relationship with each other.  She is Gottman level 1 trained in couples work.

Relationship and rapport are crucial in the therapeutic process, and Pat is extremely interested in learning about her clients needs and expectations for therapy. She helps her clients explore their hopes and fears about their therapy journey and is honored to assist them every step of the way.
